Palm Form

Palm – the full name of the form is Goddess (觀音-kun yum or kwon yum) Palm. She is merciful, yet a powerful goddess, who oversees and listens to the mortal’s prayers, as well as performs eradication to evil doers. She usually does that with the flicking of a small bamboo leaf branch from her vase, which in our form is depicted by those backhand combination kicks. The form was extended with other moves, transitions, and postures to complete this form. Ng Ga Kuen Palm Form emphasizes the fluid, expressive use of the palm. It trains palm strikes that explode with force, finger piercing for vital point attacks, open-hand slaps to disorient, and slicing chops that flow with precision. The form also includes flicking motions to deflect or set up counters. Rooted in a stable stance, it refines timing, control, and inner power, embodying softness masking devastating intent.
