Small Cross – Ng Ga Kuen’s Small Cross Form (小十字拳) is the system’s essential beginner routine, designed to build solid foundations in mobility, stance work, and fighting structure. Named “small cross” for its four-directional pattern, the form guides the practitioner through movements in a cross-shaped path, training awareness, turning, and balance. It emphasizes strong transitions between key stances such as bow and arrow stance (弓箭步),cat stance(吊馬)and kneeling stance(跪馬) and crossing leg stance(女字馬). Basic punches, blocks, front kick is drilled to ensuring precision and power. The form also introduces beginner-level Chin-na (摛拿)techniques for joint control and trapping, as well as Che Lun Jeung (車輪掌), the wheel palm/windmill, a circular striking and redirecting method. This form is the blueprint for all higher-level development.
